What our nutritionist says:

Brazil nuts is the best plant based source of selenium - in fact you can achieve your daily requirement of selenium by eating just 1-2 Brazil nuts. Although selenium is good for you, excessive amounts of selenium can cause toxicity. Therefore, it is important to take note of how many Brazil nuts you eat a day, especially when you always have a diet rich in selenium (e.g. seafood, eggs, beef and pork). One Brazil nut contains about 68 to 91 mcg selenium, and the upper limit is 400mcg for adults, which means it is advisable to have not more than 5 nuts daily.
