Sea buckthorn, also named as Hippophae rhamnoides L, is a member of the Elaeagnaceae family and is originated from Northern Himalayas. Research studies had shown that its leaves, roots, seeds and berries together with the oil extracted from them contain a variety of bioactive chemicals such as anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antioxidant and anti-atherosclerotic activities.

Sea buckthorn berries are in reddish-orange colour which indicates ample carotenoids inside. Besides, it is rich in omega 3,6,7,9 (linolenic acid, linoleic acid, palmitoleic acid, oleic acid). These omegas are polyunsaturated fatty acids that our body cannot produce by ourselves and need to obtain through diet or supplement.
